On Wednesday, May 28 2025 Luca Marini sustained serious injuries following a crash while testing for the Suzuka 8-Hour event and will remain in Japan for medical care and recovery.
After competing in the British GP, Marini traveled to Suzuka Circuit for his first test aboard the CBR1000RR-R SP. He completed a promising opening day, but during the second day of testing, the Italian rider suffered a severe crash. Marini was diagnosed with a dislocated left hip, ligament damage in his left knee, fractures to his sternum and left collarbone, and a right-sided pneumothorax. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he is now in stable condition.
Marini will stay in Japan under medical observation until he is cleared to travel.
